“HANDS-UP” stages the “elephant in the room” to attend to that which makes us uncomfortable. The performance features a room that hosts a lecture performance on political hands gestures of resistance; that is, until a gesture, one that makes the elephant in the room impossible to ignore, emerges in our research. The elephants read love letters, dance, become exhausted, and finally become undone.
